Defence Construction Canada’s Contract Financials team is growing! Over the next months, our teams anticipate creating new positions at various levels within our Contract Financials team.

What Roles This Pool Includes

  • Financial Administrator - Level 6 & Level 7 (Pay scale: $68,014 - $88,417)

What You Can Expect To Do In These Roles The positions listed are part of our Contract Financial team, internally known as Company 2. This team takes care of Contract financial processing and payment on behalf of our Client-Partners. Over a billion dollars of annual payments are processed every year!

In these roles, you will carry out a variety of financial activities focused on processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and service billing. You will provide advice and guidance to other team members in regard to finance, and you will record project and contract budgets and expenditures, process payments, prepare financial reports, and assist with year-end activities.

Our teams are in office twice a week, so you must be available to be come to our downtown location two days a week.

What Do I Need To Be Considered To be considered for our finance candidate pool, you must be eligible to obtain a Reliability level clearance in a timely manner.

Our team is seeking professionals with a background in corporate finance, ideally working within a corporate finance and accounting team overseeing large volumes of invoicing. You will have strong computer skills and be knowledgeable in accounting software (we use JD Edwards and SAP, but recognize other systems are transferable!).

To begin a career with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), you must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.As a condition of employment with DCC, a minimum reliability security status clearance is required and some roles may require secret security status clearance.

DCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process . Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints. Required The appropriate security clearance is a condition of employment and it is the candidate’s or employee’s responsibility to ensure, they are able to obtain and maintain their required security level clearance to begin or continue their employment with DCC.Failure to obtain or maintain, the appropriate level of security clearance means either the candidate or employee will not receive a job offer, the conditional offer will be rendered null and void or their employment will be terminated with cause. A thorough security clearance process will be applied to all candidates or employees considered for an appointment; this process includes inquiries, verifications and assessments regarding matters such as, but not limited to:

  • criminal record checks
