About the Role
Mercor is hiring experienced management consultants to collaborate with a leading AI research lab on a long-term project shaping the future of frontier AI systems. In this role, you will design consulting-style prompts, structured answers, and evaluation frameworks that train and benchmark large language models (LLMs) against the rigor of real-world consulting workflows.
This is a unique opportunity to combine consulting expertise with cutting-edge AI research — while gaining both compensation and equity potential in the project’s success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine management consulting-style prompts and answers that replicate real client deliverables.
- Benchmark AI outputs against consulting frameworks, structured problem-solving approaches, and industry standards.
- Provide clear, structured feedback on reasoning, business rigor, and communication quality.
- Conduct online research and synthesize insights across multiple domains to strengthen evaluation sets.
Ideal Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or a similarly competitive consulting firm.
- Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems and communicate insights effectively.
- Strong online research, synthesis, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional written English, with meticulous attention to detail.
Project Timeline
- Start Date: Immediate
- Duration: 4 weeks (with potential for extension)
- Commitment: Flexible, ~20+ hours/week
- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own time
Compensation & Contract
- $80–$120 per hour (USD) , depending on experience
- Equity opportunities available for top contributors
- Independent contractor arrangement
- Daily payouts via Stripe Connect
- Bonus incentives : Top performers may receive an additional $20–$100/hr on top of their base rate
