About the role

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management & Business Analysis within the Data Management & Program Delivery department, the Product Manager will play an integral role in driving the success of our digital expansion and interoperability initiatives.

A critical component of this position is the collaboration with multiple business and cross functional verticals (such as Operations, Marketing, Project Management, Data Management, System Architecture, Solution Design & Development), to prioritize and deliver towards a multi-year year roadmap that maximizes delivery of value through features and capabilities that align with our company’s vision and meet both internal and external customer needs. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

This role requires a blend of domain expertise in enterprise systems (particularly SAP S/4HANA and ERP integration), business process acumen, and product or program management leadership to influence direction, adoption, and change across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and communicate the vision for the product(s) set in alignment with the company's objectives, with specific focus on enterprise systems, roadmap development, and alignment with financial, operational, and data management strategies.

  • Understand the technology landscape, including emerging trends, to influence product strategy.

  • Develop and maintain a thoughtfully constructed product strategy and product vision based on a combination of technological advancements, ecosystem innovations, market analysis, stakeholder needs, and company objectives.

  • Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability

  • Identify potential technical and market risks and work with relevant teams to develop mitigation strategies.

  • UX/UI Design: Familiarity with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles to create products that provide exceptional user experience and meet design standards.

  • Prioritize features and improvements based on both business and technical considerations, ensuring alignment with SAP’s modular roadmap, data interoperability requirements, and business process optimization goals.

  • Work with stakeholders, including customers, business teams, and developers, to gather, analyze, define, and prioritize technical, functional, and non-functional requirements.

  • Coordinate with business teams and analysts to translate business requirements / user stories into technical specifications. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to ensure mutual understanding.

  • Lead teams in resolving complex technical challenges by providing insight into user needs and product vision. This also includes partnering with IT and external SAP partners to define evolution strategy, integration with adjacent systems (CRM, Data Warehouse, etc.), and long-term architectural decisions.

  • Oversee the product through its entire lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond, ensuring its technical robustness and market fit.

  • Lead engagement and collaboration discussions with external and internal stakeholders, including customers, partners, and senior leadership, to gather feedback and communicate product strategy.

  • Establish channels to gather continuous feedback on the product, making necessary pivots or iterations based on user feedback and market dynamics.

  • Ensure the creation of comprehensive product and feature documentation that communicates the technical aspects of the product to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Develop a functional and technical understanding of our offerings to identify areas for optimization and innovation to enhance and modernize stakeholder experience.

  • Continuously learn about the latest technological trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the product remains modern and relevant.

  • Act as a change leader for ERP transformation – advocating for process modernization, user adoption, and value realization through SAP S4/HANA capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with concentration in software; or equivalent knowledge in the areas of software engineering (software requirements analysis, software design, software testing).

  • Additional certifications are an asset, such as SAP Certified Application Associate, or PMI-ACP.

Experience

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in product management in a progressive and technology-oriented company, with a strong preference for demonstrated experience and success in ERP/SAP launches and transformational programs.

  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management.

  • Must have a proven track record of being innovative as well as possessing strong communication, product management, and leadership skills, while performing in a fast paced, regulatory environment.

  • Experience with development methodologies and product management tools.

  • Ability to think strategically and innovatively; define an annual roadmap that brings the product close to the vision and align product development with overall organizational goals.

  • Innovative thinker with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences and solving customer challenges.

  • Coordinates efforts under architectural and portfolio governance.

  • Acts as a model for addressing conflict and barriers to collaboration.

  • Works to empower teams and individuals.

  • Adaptive to dynamic environments and tolerates change as Circular Materials implements its new program obligations.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and the ability to communicate and apply AI technologies effectively within a business context.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a Canadian home office environment.
  • A flexible work schedule and periods of uneven workflow, along with periods of extended working hours to meet deadlines during peak periods can be expected.
  • The job demands management of projects across the country, candidate will be required to support these projects by adapting to multiple time zones when necessary.
