The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel Contract Manager and Lead to oversee the strategic and operational management of our corporate travel program. This role will be responsible for contract negotiation, vendor management, policy oversight, and program optimization across travel services. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to streamline travel operations, ensure compliance, and deliver value through strategic partnerships.
What you'll do
- Lead the end-to-end management of travel-related contracts, including airlines, hotels, ground transportation, and travel management companies (TMCs)
- Negotiate and execute contracts that align with corporate travel goals, duty of care standards, and cost-efficiency targets
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define travel requirements and ensure alignment with business needs
- Manage vendor relationships and performance, including contract renewals, service level agreements, and issue resolution
- Oversee travel policy governance and ensure compliance across the organization
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including integration of benefits from strategic partnerships (e.g., Amex merger) and system enhancements
- Support RFP processes and lead contract strategy development for new and existing travel services
- Monitor industry trends and benchmark practices to inform program evolution and innovation
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in travel management, procurement, or contract administration
- Proven track record in negotiating complex contracts and managing vendor relationships
- Strong understanding of travel industry standards, duty of care, and compliance frameworks
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
- Experience with travel management systems and analytics tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GBTA standards and membership
- Experience with SAP Concur, Fieldglass, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of Canadian and cross-border travel regulations
