WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Role:
We are seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our Quality Control team as a permanent position. We are looking for someone with experience in mechanical/electrical assembly manufacturing, structured problem-solving and detail-oriented approach. This role will report directly to the Quality Control Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the lab manager to execute daily activities related to quality, such as receiving and in-process control.
- Standardize measurement inspection procedures across the organization.
- Collaborate with the team to conduct internal failure analysis and control nonconforming materials using 8D methodology to define the problem, assure effective containment, find root cause, verify, and validate corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Support the quality team in performing Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and contribute to the development of a robust system for control.
- Conduct capability analysis on critical components and assist the quality and manufacturing teams in deploying in-process capability analysis.
- Ensure all tasks are executed to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
- Work proactively with Supply chain, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering teams to define requirements and ensure in-process control in manufacturing to achieve requirements and prevent failures in-house and at our customers.
- Review and approve internal changes over Engineering Change processes.
- Review and approve internal PPAP submissions and updates.
- Actively participate in PFMEA and Control Plan development to ensure potential risks are captured and mitigated.
WHO YOU ARE:
Basic Qualifications:
- Graduation in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Engineer
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Power B.I expertise
- Metrology training
- Knowledge on APQP, PPAP, AIAG Methods: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Capability and Capacity Analysis
- Internal Auditor ISO 9001 Certified.
- Lean Six Sigma and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) training.
Skills:
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities, Strong Project Management skills
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to ensure commitments are met.
