Salary Grid: 10

Wage: $25.68 - $27.31per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support our finance operations, with a focus on accounts payable accruals and invoice tracking in Salesforce. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their accounting career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Support/Finance Coordinator:
    • Validate program invoices from various service providers so that is in alignment with existing service agreements
    • Manage client tracking spreadsheet and report on actual vs budgeted numbers
    • Prepare and record monthly accruals/reversals for outstanding vendor invoices.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
    • Assist with month-end closing activities related to AP.
  • Salesforce Invoice Tracking:
    • Update Salesforce records with invoice numbers, payment status, service hours and other financial information
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in Salesforce.
    • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to verify billing details.
  • General Accounting Support:
    • Assist with Opportunity Fund Claims processing.
    • Invoicing / Billing various union and government authorities
    • Validate and approve EFT / direct deposit payment files
    • Support audits by providing documentation and reconciliations.
    • Maintain organized records and support document retention policies.

Qualifications

  • Accounting Certificate.
  • 1–2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300) and Salesforce is an asset.
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with month-end close processes.
  • Understanding of accrual accounting principles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
