Profile Summary
We are seeking a high-caliber,autonomous Quality Control Inspectorto anchor our weekend operations and critical Friday shipping window. This role is designed for a confident decision-maker who can operate independently without direct supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring all products and processes align with AS9100D standards, managing the inspection workflow based on established priorities, and serving as the final line of defense for quality before products reach our customers.
Work Schedule: This is a weekend-focused role (Friday–Monday) offering**32 to 40 hours per week.**We provide a flexible shift structure—ranging from a 3-day intensive weekend to a 4-day full-time schedule—allowing you to maximize your mid-week time off.
Core Responsibilities & Autonomy
-**Independent Execution:**Review the production schedule provided on Friday by the supervisor, understand priority levels, and manage the inspection queue accordingly. -**Confident Decision-Making:**Act as the primary authority on quality during weekend shifts. Identify, record, and control non-conformances independently, ensuring no unsatisfactory conditions move forward. -**CMM Operation:**Utilize CMM equipment to validate complex geometries and physical parts (Experience in CMM operation is required for this shift). -**Comprehensive Inspection:**Perform Receiving, First-Off, In-Process, and Final inspections to ensure "right-first-time" quality. -**Workcenter Auditing:**Conduct real-time audits to ensure personnel have the correct tools and documentation, preventing errors before they occur. -**Asset Stewardship:**Maintain all inspection and test equipment in good order, ensuring accuracy and proper storage throughout the weekend.
Technical Troubleshooting & CMM Stewardship
-**System Maintenance:**Perform routine start-up, cleaning, and basic calibration of CMM equipment to ensure measurement accuracy throughout the shift. -**Error Recovery:**Independently troubleshoot and recover the CMM from common software or hardware errors to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. -**Environmental Monitoring:**Ensure the CMM lab or inspection area remains within required temperature and cleanliness standards for high-precision measurement.
Minimum Job Qualifications
-**Experience:**Minimum 2–3 years of QC Inspector experience in a manufacturing environment. -CMM Skills:Proven proficiency inCMM operationis required; knowledge of Calypso, Mcosmos, or PC-DMIS is highly valued.
-**CMM Troubleshooting:**Proven ability to manage CMM error recovery and perform basic system maintenance (stylus qualification, probe cleaning, and system homing) without external technical support. -**Technical Mastery:**Master proficiency in reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T specifications (Imperial & Metric).
-**Metrology Expertise:**Expert use of precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore/snap/thread gauges, etc.). -**Standards Knowledge:**Familiarity with AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015.
