About Shearwater Research Inc

Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing
51-200

We are a world leader in the design and manufacture of computers for all types of divers, offering products which are powerful, simple and reliable. We take pride in our corporate culture of high energy excellence, with self-managed professionals who thrive in delivering results, and welcome team players to join us in our journey!

Inception

From its beginnings in 2004 Shearwater Research Inc. has been fueled by the passion and vision of its CEO Bruce Partridge. With a background in computer systems design, embedded programming and advanced technical diving, Shearwater brings a unique perspective to the world of dive computers.

Core Values

Armed with the belief that divers want a simple intuitive user interface previously unavailable in dive computers and rebreather control systems, the earliest focus was on the design of a menu structure that made sense to the user. As experienced rebreather and open circuit technical divers, Shearwater clearly understood the need for divers to be offered reasonable choices, requiring as few button pushes as possible, during stressful underwater situations. Coupled with Shearwater’s strong programming skills and demand for robust, reliable products, Shearwater Research has quickly become a major supplier of trimix computers and electronic control systems for rebreathers.

Research

Shearwater places great value in the work being done by the scientific community relating to diving and decompression theory. It is common to find Shearwater representatives attending scientific symposiums and conferences around the world. We support evidence based decision making and the organizations that provide that evidence.

Commitment to Quality

All Shearwater products are designed and manufactured in Vancouver, Canada, in our certified ISO 9001-2008 compliant facility. Our products meet international standards as required by CE, FCC and IC
