##Position Description

In collaboration with the health care team, the Registered Dietitian will provide nutritional care to children/families by assessing nutritional status and identifying, preventing and rectifying nutritional problems. The area of coverage is the Ability Clinic.

Here's what you'll get to do:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for pediatric patients with restrictive eating
  • Determine nutritional status, growth adequacy, and dietary intake
  • Identify macro- and micronutrient deficiencies or insufficiencies
  • Develop and implement therapeutic nutrition care plans including vitamin/mineral supplementation
  • Provide Family education and counseling on selective eating and sensory feeding challenges
  • Collaborate with medical team and patient's care circle
  • Manage tube feeds
  • Document assessments and recommendations in the electronic health record
  • Participate with other team members in case conferences with school and community providers outside of clinic time.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Experience in Pediatrics
  • Experience with restrictive or disordered eating
  • Experience managing micronutrient deficiencies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the health care team and to take initiative and leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, creativity and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and efficient time management.
  • Demonstrated belief in lifelong learning and evidence based practice.
  • Flexibility and creativity to make treatment recommendations, specific to the individual needs of patients with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.

**Employment Type:**0.6 FTE, one year contract - days of week Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Wednesday may be negotiable)
