About the role
Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.
We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.
Summary: We are seeking a Strategy & Operations Lead who will drive Clio’s company-wide strategic alignment, oversee our goal-setting (OKR) program, and independently lead high-visibility, complex strategic projects. This role will elevate how Clio connects its vision and strategy to execution, translating strategic objectives into operational reality and surfacing opportunities to accelerate business performance. This role is available to candidates in either Vancouver or Toronto. This role is an individual contributor.
The Team:
Strategy & Operations sits at the center of our business, partnering with the C-Suite, Product, GtM, Corporate Development, Business Development, and Finance to shape corporate strategy and scale Clio’s operating rhythm as we grow.
We design strategy, drive planning, monitor business performance, and strengthen decision-making across the organization. Our culture is positive, gritty, and collaborative; we value curiosity, clarity, objectivity, and strong partnerships.
As a senior strategist within Clio, you will oversee a portfolio of strategic projects, including Clio’s OKR program, playing a pivotal role in progressing company-wide and team specific strategies, building organizational alignment, and tackling the increasingly complex challenges of a rapidly scaling company.
Who you are:
You are a senior, business-savvy operator with deep strength in strategy, problem solving, and cross-functional leadership. You move fluidly between high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution to “change altitudes” to drive alignment and results. You build trust with senior leaders, thrive in ambiguity, and consistently turn complex problems into clear paths forward.
You are not a traditional project/program manager; you are a strategic contributor who brings breadth across the business, depth where needed, and the ability to autonomously lead initiatives with significant organizational impact. You are energized by raising the bar on how Clio sets goals, executes, learns, and adapts.
What you’ll work on:
- Manage a portfolio of strategic programs, autonomously identifying key opportunities and leading cross functional teams to deliver large business impact
- Support Clio’s overall operating rhythm by leading its company-wide OKR and strategic alignment processes; planning priorities with executives and ensuring clear, actionable goals across the business.
- Elevate how Clio translates vision and strategy into focus, accountability, and organizational learning.
- Own and evolve our quarterly and annual OKR cycles, ensuring high-quality goal setting, alignment, and assessment across teams.
- Serve as the in-house expert and administrator for OKR systems, defining repeatable mechanisms for tracking progress and outcomes.
- Build and develop an OKR ambassador network; coach and enable leaders to confidently set, manage, and learn from goals.
- Independently identify, scope, and lead high-visibility, complex cross-functional strategic projects, even in domains where you may have limited prior experience.
- Drive alignment across departments, collaborating with leaders across Product, GtM, Finance, and Operations to translate strategic priorities into operational execution.
- Define success metrics and decision frameworks to measure performance, increase transparency, and support executive focus.
- Champion a culture of clarity and continuous improvement; helping the organization iterate quickly, adopt best practices, and scale its operating model.
What experience you have:
- Are eager to learn and grow; you likely hold a Bachelor’s or MBA or have significant professional experience in a similar role, and you continue to seek opportunities to level up your skills
- 6+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, management consulting, or a related strategic function.
- Proven experience running organizational goal-setting or OKR programs at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex, ambiguous, high-stakes projects with cross-functional impact.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of an organization.
- Experience building and scaling processes, navigating change, and increasing operational rigor across growing organizations.
- Comfort with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and solving novel challenges in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.
- Growth mindset when it comes to process improvement and new technologies, especially AI
Serious bonus points if you have:
- MBA
- Direct experience with a vertical SaaS company
