Position Details

The Dhillon School of Business at the University of Lethbridge is seeking a casual Administrative Support to commence work as soon as possible, to assist with our Student Professional Development program events and administrative tasks. Hours of work will vary from 0 to 15 hours/week, and is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to help events run smoothly. We are seeking an individual with strong organizational and communication skills, who is comfortable using a range of technology tools, and who brings a positive, detail-oriented approach to their work.

DUTIES**:**

  • Maintain and update the student professional development events/opportunities database (adding events, managing registrations and reminders, validating attendance, and finding external events to add).
  • Format, help with content for, and distribute a weekly newsletter, and student engagement leaderboard.
  • Support event logistics, including room bookings, preparing nametags, managing RSVP lists, coordinating event setup, and ensuring promotional materials (web, print, and social media) are up to date.
  • Help administer post-event surveys and collate summary reports.
  • Communicate with external organizations to coordinate sending students to their events
  • Provide administrative support for Course-Based Experiential Learning activities such as guest speakers and in-class case competitions, as well as student WIL (work integrated learning) initiatives through Riipen and other platforms.
  • Perform other related administrative tasks as needed.

Hourly rate: $23.96

Position Qualifications

  • Experience in providing administrative support for events; including creating registration, bookings/logistics, executing on promotional plans, managing lists, and basic event coordination support.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Written and oral communication skills; project oversight, organizational and prioritizing skills

  • The ability to multitask and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Able to work independently within a team structure, exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and professional discretion.

  • Administrative skills including computer skills in a PC environment, an understanding of databases (ex. Airtable), Microsoft Office, Qualtrics survey software, Campaign Monitor, online tools and Outlook along with excellent organizational, record keeping and filing skills.

  • Ability for occasional evening work.

  • Knowledge of the university environment and community would be an asset.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
