Software Developer – Senior (RQ11385)
Client: Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement
Location: 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, Ontario (Onsite)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise applications within a large-scale public-sector technology environment. The successful candidate will translate technical specifications into high-quality software solutions, develop modern web applications and APIs, manage CI/CD pipelines, and support application modernization initiatives using cloud-based technologies.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ASP.NET, .NET Core, C#, JavaScript, REST APIs, OpenAPI, OAuth2, Azure technologies, Entity Framework, Azure SQL, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience supporting large government applications, Agile delivery environments, and cloud service models (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Technical Implementation (40%)
Translate technical system specifications into fully functional, tested software applications. Develop detailed programming specifications and technical documentation. Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise applications. Build and support modern web applications, Web APIs, and web services.
Develop custom solutions using
ASP.NET .NET Core C# JavaScript REST APIs OpenAPI OAuth2 Entity Framework Develop and execute unit tests to ensure application quality. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during application implementation, migration, and production support. Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers, and other IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Cloud Development, DevOps & Integration (40%)
Develop and support cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure technologies. Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows. Support application deployment, automation, and release management processes.
Work with Azure cloud service models including
Software as a Service (SaaS) Platform as a Service (PaaS) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Support Agile delivery practices using task boards, Kanban, and sprint-based development. Design and implement API integrations and middleware solutions. Work with relational databases, query languages, and enterprise data platforms. Apply secure development practices and support enterprise application performance requirements.
Technical Documentation & Stakeholder Collaboration (20%)
Prepare technical documentation, reports, assessments, and implementation materials. Participate in design walkthroughs and technical review sessions. Communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders and project teams. Provide application support and resolve post-implementation issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver quality technology solutions. Maintain strong customer service and stakeholder engagement practices.
