Intern in Advanced Design – Ecojet : Multi-Disciplinary Optimization Tools Development
Our team…
The Advanced Design group leads the conceptual studies and preliminary design of all new products at Bombardier. The team is also heavily involved in research projects covering various new technologies that will shape the future of aerospace.
What are your contributions to the team?
- Help develop and validate various software tools developed with the Advanced Design department
- Develop conceptual design tool
- Participate in the Multidisciplinary Optimization tools development
- Benchmark disciplinary environment with state-of-the-art research
- Participate in the assessment of unconventional aircraft configurations
- Participate in feasibility and trade studies of new aircraft design software
During your internship, you will learn:
- How to efficiently implement multi fidelity algorithms in a multidesciplanry design optimisation framework
- The importance of multidisciplinary design optimization tools in the design of new products
- To use different programming languages and development environments
- How to participate in the early phases of the development of new aircraft concepts
- To work as a cohesive team with experts from different technical disciplines
How to thrive in this role?
- You are currently enrolled in a graduate studies engineering program preferably at PhD level
- You have university level aerospace engineering program
- You have experience with multi-fidelity optimization algorithms
- You show a keen interest in aerospace in general and aircraft design in particular
- You show a keen interest for software development, with a good knowledge of the Python programming language. Familiarity with dash is an asset;
- You are familiar with other programming languages (C/C++, Matlab, Fortran)
- You are motivated, curious and independent
- You are familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Office and Matlab
Boarding Information:
- Location: Administrative Centre (CA)
- Duration: 8 months
- Flexible workplace-Hybrid
It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
