Description
RIMOWA has a unique opportunity for a Material Handler to join the Materials CREW at our Cambridge facility.
Key Responsibilities

Replenish materials, equipment, and stock for production lines
-
Load, unload and move materials on a dock and in a warehouse either manually or with power equipment including forklifts
-
Read and follow production schedules, move and prep materials in order of plan, adapt to changes in plan
-
Perform material handling activities such as preparing parts for line side supply of materials and inventory handling with power lift equipment.

A primary focus to ensure productions lines are always stocked and flowing properly.

Pick, sort, pack, crate, and package materials into appropriate locations.

Remove scrap and route to appropriate disposal destinations
-
Perform light assembly work as required, including but not limited to applying transfer labels, assembly of telescopic handles and assembly of wheels

Prepare raw materials for production.

Responsible for daily cleaning of work areas and equipment

Light housekeeping duties as required.

Assist training new staff with job requirements and safety procedures.

Administrative duties such as material transfers and WMS transferring and adjustment of materials, updating and printing spreadsheets, answering phones

Duties may be subject to change as business requirements change.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:

- Strong ability to multi-task with a high level of organizational skills, problem solving, decision making and written & oral communication
- The preferred candidate will be self-motivated, energetic and well organized, a great team player with the ability to work independently
- Capability to differentiate between colour sample for a variety of materials
- Must be certified to operate counterbalance forklift
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly
- Must be able to accurately maintain a counting system both manually and computerized
- 1-2 years of experience with inventory maintenance and manufacturing processes and standards would be an asset
- Experience with MS Excel and other application software is an asset.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow production schedules
- Excellent communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work under pressure, attention to detail, fast paced, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, significant use of memory, continuous learning.
- Moderate lifting, manual dexterity, standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, oral communication.
- Ability to commute/relocate: Cambridge, ON N3E 1B8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
- Work Location: In person
