About the role
Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets.
We are looking for an energetic and experienced Plumber to join our team in Fredericton on a full-time basis.
What you will do:
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems;
- Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems;
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors;
- Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings;
- Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tolls or machines;
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment;
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges;
- Clear blocked drains;
- May prepare cost estimates;
- Participate in the on-call rotation;
- May complete non plumbing related tasks from time to time;
- Other duties as required.
Who you are:
- Completion of Apprenticeship Program or trade certification;
- Must be reliable, punctual and skilled in the field;
- Must possess good interpersonal communication and teamwork;
- Must be flexible and able to work evenings/weekends;
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
