Site Description:

The Halifax Infirmary is home to the Charles V. Keating Emergency and Trauma Centre. It also houses a number of inpatient units, general surgery, vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, orthopedic surgery and outpatient clinics.

Position Details:

Position: Site Supervisor

Site: Halifax Infirmary

Overtime: After 48 hours

Hours: Monday - Friday, 0800 - 16:00

Payrate: $24.50

Posting Date: August 16, 2025

Internal Closing Date: August 22, 2025

External Closing Date: August 29, 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Principle contact/carrier of Security site mobile phone: Respond to all incoming phone calls and delegate tasks to the Security team as needed.
  • Oversee and coordinate duties large team of Security Officer's per shift,
  • Respond to all Emergency incidents (Police/Fire/Ambulance) and coordinate (as needed) all involved personnel.
  • Conduct daily review of Security Incident Reports
  • Conduct Inspections of all Security Personnel to ensure proper deportment and adherence to Policy and Procedures
  • Responsible for the training of any new staff, and remedial training of existing Security Personnel
  • Ensure completion of all Daily Assigned Tasks/Audits
  • Ensure all Daily Reports and Logs are submitted at the End of Shift.
  • Ensure all site Security Policy and Procedures are adhered
  • Interacting with employees, visitors, and clients to provide assistance and ensure a safe environment.
  • Capable to handle and resolve conflicts, make quick decisions, and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Effectively lead, manage, and motivate a team of security personnel

Prerequisites:

  • The ability to obtain a Nova Scotia Security License
  • Valid CSA Approved Standard Level First Aid and CPR Level C
  • 2 Years of Security or relevant Experience
  • Police Foundations Diploma is considered an asset
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
