About the role
We’re looking for a Mechanical Estimator to support our growing operations in Canada. This role is responsible for sourcing and targeting a variety of projects while delivering accurate, timely, and effective estimates. The successful candidate will have construction industry experience and the ability to analyze plans, materials, labour costs, and related project details. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates for refrigeration construction projects
- Attend walk-throughs and site meetings to determine project scope
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and related documents to develop time, cost, and labour estimates
- Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Prepare estimates for vendor and subcontractor selection
- Review material and labour requirements to determine cost-effective solutions
- Develop project plans and timelines
- Apply strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical estimating experience
- Highly organized and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Excel; experience with Great Plains and ACAD is an asset
- Strong work ethic and a positive, professional attitude
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
- Excellent communication skills and professional representation skills
- Accountable problem solver with the ability to adapt to customer needs
