Strategic Alliance Manager – SAP Channels& Alliances

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly driven Strategic Alliance Manager (SAM) to join our SAP Channels& Alliances team in Canada. Based in Toronto, this sales-oriented role is focused on driving revenue and pipeline growth for SAP-related solutions within the Canadian territory.
The SAM works closely with SAP’s field sales organization to identify joint opportunities, build strong field-level relationships, and execute go-to-market strategies. This role requires a blend of business development expertise, sales execution skills, and a deep understanding of SAP-integrated OpenText solutions.
As a critical member of the Alliances organization, the SAM will report to the Regional Director, Channels& Alliances, and collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Presales, and Global Alliances to ensure customer success and revenue growth.
You are great at:
- Developing and documenting a regional plan to achieve pipeline and revenue targets.
- Building strong, high-value relationships with SAP field stakeholders across the assigned territory.
- Driving joint business planning and sales campaigns with SAP to generate new opportunities.
- Supporting SAP and OpenText Account Executives by qualifying opportunities and aligning customer needs to OpenText SAP solutions.
- Co-selling OpenText SAP solutions and establishing the value proposition early in the sales cycle.
- Participating in account planning sessions, sales meetings, and regional marketing events to evangelize OpenText’s SAP portfolio.
- Partner selection, acquisition, and validation in coordination with SAP, Alliances, Channels, and Professional Services.
- Ensuring customer success through project engagement, reference development, and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Monitoring pipeline progress and taking proactive actions to achieve revenue goals.
- Traveling within the assigned region to attend customer meetings, SAP events, and partner activities.
What it takes:
- 5+ years of experience in field sales, partner management, or partner sales roles.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas in sales or alliance-driven positions.
- Strong ability to work with executives at all organizational levels with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and technical teams.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles with experience in program and project management.
- Ability to design and deliver enablement programs for partner and sales audiences.
- Skilled at articulating business-level value propositions of complex solutions to partners and customers.
- Experience working with SAP license sales teams is highly desirable.
