Position Overview:
The Systems Technologist is responsible for technical support and maintenance of in-house computer systems, networks, peripherals, hardware, and software, as well as supporting cloud-based and hybrid IT environments. This includes a) installing, maintaining, troubleshooting/repairing, and upgrading hardware, b) installing and managing software—both on-premises and cloud-based—and protecting the company's data and systems, and c) providing assistance, instruction, and support to internal users across both local and remote environments as required.
Specific Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Manages and supports hybrid IT environments, including both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and consistent performance across all systems.

Administers and maintains Office 365 tenant services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), including user provisioning, license management, security settings, and service health monitoring.

Deploys and maintains cloud-based tools and applications, including Microsoft Entra ID, and other SaaS solutions, ensuring they comply with the organization's security policies and regulatory requirements.

Installs, configures, tests, maintains, troubleshoots and monitors end users' workstation hardware.

On an as-requested basis, installs, configures, tests and troubleshoots end user workstation software and networking software products.

Installs, configures, tests, maintains, troubleshoots and monitors network hardware and associated systems.

Conducts research into computer products, including marketplace innovations, and recommends products for purchase.

Provides input into the identification of hardware required to meet short and long term company needs.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment contracts; arranges for, schedules, monitors and evaluates/supervises contractor performance.

Maintains confidentiality with regard to usernames, passwords, email, data and any other information stored on company computer systems.

Acquires and maintains software licenses for all internal users.

Provides one-on-one instruction and training for end users on an as-requested basis.

Provides off-hour emergency technical support.

Performs all employee health and safety duties as identified in the company's health and safety manual.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
College diploma or university degree in computer science supported by 5 years of systems support experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and carry out tasks in a high pressure environment
