- You will be working on a pre-defined, 100 % remote schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.
- The working hours for this position will be Monday - Friday, rotating shifts between 800 AM - 1000 PM.

Business Overview The Cybersecurity Analyst supports the risk mitigation efforts of Fidelity’s Cyber Defense Operations (CDO) under the Information Security and Technology Risk group in order to safeguard and protect our information assets and critical data from current and emerging Cyber threats.
How You’ll Make An Impact The analyst will apply their skills and knowledge in the day-to-day management Cyber activities including, but not limited to, analyzing security logs and systems data to identify anomalous or irregular events; completing Cyber management processes to respond to, investigate and report on identified security incidents; maintenance of various security tools and technologies such as advanced malware detection, DDoS, IDS/IPS, DLP, Anti-spam as well as other Cyber threat intelligence and vulnerability management capabilities. The ideal candidate has experience not only using a wide range of technologies to respond to Cybersecurity events but diligent upkeep and continuous improvement of Cyber management processes and tools.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Ensure computing platform compliance with Cybersecurity policies and directives. Use provided tools to perform continuous monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify malicious activity and configure mitigations. Coordinate with other groups to manage and administer the updating of rules and signatures across the information security stack (e.g. intrusion detection/protection systems, anti-virus, and content blacklists). Identify and recommend actions to address vulnerabilities in the computing environment or inconsistencies in existing security processes.
- Provide timely detection, identification, and alerts of possible attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities, and distinguish these incidents and events from benign activities. Participate in or lead Cyber incident detection, investigation, and response.
- Support Cybersecurity risk mitigation efforts primarily through processes established to safeguard information assets.
- Support CDO reporting activities and production of summary reports of network events and activity relevant to CDO. Monitor external data sources (e.g. vendor sites, Computer Emergency Response Teams, SANS, Open Source and Private feeds) to maintain currency of threat condition and determine and report on security issues may have an impact on Fidelity
- Participate in or lead Cybersecurity awareness and training exercises. Advise on Cybersecurity policies, industry standards, best practices, and strategies.
Experience What We Are Looking For
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity or Information Technology.
- 1 year of recent experience working in the Security Operations Centre (SOC) as L1 Analyst.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred - CISSP, CISMP, CND, CSA, Security+, Network +, SANS 401 Security Essentials, SANS 301 Introduction to Cyber.
- Microsoft SC-200 certification is considered an asset
The expertise you bring
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience in Data loss protection (DLP), Email threats detect and response, SIEM, network security, UNIX and Windows operating systems security, database security, Cybersecurity Incident response.
- Excellent knowledge of Cybersecurity methodologies, standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of security threats, common attack vectors and the use of security tools to monitor the technology infrastructure and computing environment.
- Understanding of complex, enterprise-wide information systems security architecture and how network, application and host-based security controls work.
- Understanding of the underlying protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, SQL, TCP/IP, Active Directory
- Good understanding of systems development life cycle and secure application development.
- Knowledge and experience working with PCI, ISO 27000 standards, ITIL.
