You as a Associate, Corporate Development will:
- Mergers and Acquisitions Support – support all phases of the M&A process, including outreach, screening, valuations, deal structuring, due diligence, closing activities, business integration, and post-closing monitoring and reporting.
- Evaluation & Financial Analysis – build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate corporate strategies, including valuation analyses, cashflow and profitability forecasts, and scenario analyses.
- Strategic Research and Market Intelligence – conduct market, industry, and competitive research to identify trends and strategic opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – work closely with various operating groups within the company to understand business models, risk profiles, and strategic priorities. Work with external advisors and deal teams to execute transactions, and with various internal stakeholders to assist with business integration and performance tracking.
- Executive-Level Materials – prepare investment memoranda, management presentations, and materials for executives, synthesizing complex information into actionable insights for decision-makers.
- Commercial and Strategic Review of Infrastructure Procurements – assist bid teams at EllisDon in analyzing and responding to commercial elements of various infrastructure procurements, strategizing to increase competitiveness and manage risk.
Is this the right role for you?
- You have 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate development, accounting, transaction advisory, or similar analytical role.
- You have experience with mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, due diligence, and valuations.
- You have advanced excel, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
- You have strong business acumen, and a practical understanding of how businesses generate value, manage risk, and allocate capital.
- You have strong analytical skills, and the ability to analyze complex financial and operational information with precision and strong judgment.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leaders.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop partnerships and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience in infrastructure development and/or project finance would be considered an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, or a related field.
- CPA, CFA, or CBV professional designation would be considered an asset but is not specifically required
