About the role
Dovre Group is pleased to offer the following opportunity: Operations/Project Coordinator in St. John’s, NL. This is a permanent placement with our client.
Function Our client is seeking an Operations/Project Coordinator. This role will act as a key operational support function across project planning, logistics coordination, and technical execution for inshore/nearshore marine projects. This role will report directly to the Vice President, Operations and will work closely with client project teams, company field supervisors / crews, and equipment/warehouse managers.
The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating field operations, supporting project planning, and assisting with bid preparation while helping ensure projects remain on schedule and on budget.
This position is ideal for someone with a technical or engineering background who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities shift frequently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the VP of Operations in coordinating day-to-day project activities
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and logistics coordination for marine operations
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects stay on track
- Assist with project estimating, budgeting, and bid preparation
- Monitor project progress and help resolve operational issues as they arise
- Assist with workforce coordination including contractor scheduling and crew changes
- Interpret and review technical drawings and documentation
- Support development of procedures, task plans, reports, and project documentation where required
- Maintain oversight of equipment sourcing and project logistics
- Provide coordination support across multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
Requirements Candidates may come from a variety of technical backgrounds including:
- Engineering
- Marine operations
- Mechanical or structural construction
- Vessel operations
- Technical project coordination
- Marine industry experience is considered an asset but not strictly required.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a changing environment
- Technical understanding of engineering or construction-based projects
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with operational teams
Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or Engineering Technology or related discipline is considered an asset
- Relevant technical diplomas or equivalent industry experience in marine, offshore, construction, or mechanical or structural environments will also be considered.
- Experience in project coordination, engineering support, or operations roles
- Exposure to marine, offshore, or construction environments is considered an asset
