The Opportunity

Tenaz is seeking an Information Systems Manager to join our Calgary-based team. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and working closely with the IT Manager and operational stakeholders, this role will provide leadership and hands-on support for Tenaz’s business systems environment, with a particular focus on supporting our Netherlands operations. This is a unique opportunity for a technically capable and business-oriented professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment where they can influence strategy while remaining closely involved in execution. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing Tenaz’s data and AI initiatives, improving business processes, managing strategic vendor relationships, and supporting future business growth and M&A activity. The role offers meaningful international exposure and the opportunity to work across a complex operational and systems environment within a growing energy company.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support strategic data, reporting, and AI initiatives across the organization Manage and optimize relationships with software vendors and service providers, including licensing, contracts, enhancements, and ongoing support Support and enhance business-critical applications and systems Partner closely with operations, finance, and corporate teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enablement Coordinate and support cybersecurity, governance, and systems risk management initiatives in collaboration with the IT Manager and external partners Support integration planning and systems due diligence activities related to acquisitions and other strategic transactions Manage and participate in systems-related projects, upgrades, integrations, and implementations Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, technical resources, consultants, and third-party providers

Systems Environment

The successful candidate will work across a broad systems landscape. This role will primarily focus on software systems, business applications, data platforms, and information management, while partnering closely with the IT Manager responsible for infrastructure and hardware-related functions.

Qualifications & Experience

Given the breadth of this role, the successful candidate will need to have some of the below experience and a strong desire to learn in areas that are new to them: Experience in information systems, business systems, enterprise applications, or related technology roles Experience within the oil and gas or broader energy industry is strongly preferred Demonstrated experience managing business systems, vendors, and cross-functional initiatives Experience supporting operationally focused environments with multiple integrated systems Strong understanding of data platforms, reporting environments, and emerging AI capabilities Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform Exposure to operational or industrial software environments is considered an asset

Travel

Periodic travel to the Netherlands will be required, approximately quarterly or as business activities dictate.
