Remote - Canada: This role has the opportunity to be fully remote. If you are the successful candidate and reside in the Lower Mainland, BC, it is a hybrid position that would occasionally require some in-office attendance, subject to the needs of the business.
Hours: The required working hours for this role are 9:00am-5:00pm Pacific time, regardless of your location.

We work with some of the largest entertainment brands in the world to engage audiences and fans and provide results for our clients.
What You’ll Do
In this role on our Creative team, you will leverage your creative expertise to define and bring to life the aesthetic direction of various campaigns and projects. This role requires close collaboration with diverse teams, and you will play a critical role in developing innovative solutions that align with project objectives. You will also act as a mentor, promoting digital thinking across the organization, and ensuring the smooth and timely execution of projects.
In your role as Digital Art Director, your responsibilities extend beyond conceptualization and design. You will be a part of the entire creative journey — translating abstract ideas into practical solutions, nurturing ideas from conception to execution, and even stepping in to guide and mentor others in the team. With your understanding of current tools and trends, you will be instrumental in enhancing our creative capabilities and ensuring our outputs remain relevant and engaging. You'll work closely with various teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and ensuring that our work continues to exceed expectations. As a mentor, your influence will shape the creative mindset within WTC, fostering a culture that values digital thinking and constant improvement. Your role will be a critical contributor to the success and growth of our creative practice.
Our creative team is passionate about digital experiences, innovative tools and technologies, and making everything look really cool. On this team you’ll find Designers, Copywriters, UX Specialists and more, led by our Creative Director and senior leaders in advertising, social, UX, web design, and more.
Responsibilities
- Creative Visualization:
- Concept and brainstorm digital and how the campaigns come to life visually across numerous social media platforms.
- Determine the optimal visual representation for project concepts.
- Develop the overarching aesthetic and style for advertising campaigns or projects.
- Approval and Consultation:
- Review and approve design elements including designs, artwork, photography, video, and graphics.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish an artistic approach and style.
- Presentation & Collaboration:
- Craft articulate presentations that clearly outline the project strategy and vision.
- Present ideas, concepts, and mockups to internal and external stakeholders that excite and challenge conventions.
- Work in close collaboration with creative, production, and delivery teams to devise innovative solutions in alignment with project objectives.
- Mentorship:
- Act as a mentor to creative practitioners, promoting digital thinking across all creative discussions.
- Collaborate frequently with project managers to address potential issues, ensure task completion, and uphold project timelines.
Skills and proficiencies
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a digital advertising agency setting.
- A minimum of 2 years of Art Director experience, developing big ideas and concepts, presenting to clients, and providing mentorship to colleagues.
- An impressive portfolio showcasing relevant advertising work across social media, and other digital platforms.
- Proven expertise in developing and conceptualizing big ideas and translating those ideas to visual outputs for a variety of channels.
- Experience in leading teams and projects from the concept stage through to completion.
- Proven ability to identify, nurture, and implement strong ideas and executions, along with a solid creative perspective.
- Ability to translate abstract ideas into practical solutions.
- A working understanding of HTML5 and CSS, as well as experience with design and prototyping tools.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, with strong problem-solving skills and a sound business judgement.
- Strong written communication, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as both a leader and a hands-on designer.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, managing time effectively and efficiently.
Security
Successful candidates will have experience in managing sensitive information, underscored by a clear understanding of and adherence to confidentiality and data protection principles.
Salary Range
Our pay range is $100,000 - $115,000 CAD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as market location, job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
