About the role

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Helper II – Equipment

Mechanic/Pipefitter on a permanent basis on our Maintenance & Reliability team.    This position requires on-site work and is based in Regina, SK. 

Shift: 4 on 3 off

The key role of this position is to efficiently carry out duties in the

Equipment Mechanic/Pipefitter Trade Section of the Mechanical Department at a helper level of responsibility. 

  • The maintenance portion of equipment isolations (installation of blanks). 

  • Equipment repair (heat exchangers, piping systems). 

  • New piping installations, rigging, and steam tracer/trap maintenance. 

  • Other duties as required.

The Team: You will work closely with other Tradesperson across the Maintenance Department and will report into the Trades Supervisor.

Who you are

You are looking for a career in  Production, Trades and Maintenance  and: 

  • Candidates must follow the CCRL “Work-Safe” Approach. Completion of Grade XII including Chemistry 30, Physics 30, and Math/Algebra 30 is required. If the candidate is missing one of these three classes, the application will be accepted provided the missing class is completed within a prescribed time period. 

  • Applications from candidates who do not possess technical qualifications (ex. education, tickets) required for the position as of the closing date of application will not be accepted.  

  • Candidates must have a superior mechanical aptitude with demonstrated physical adaptability for work of the EM/PF Trade, together with a good record in performance of semi-skilled maintenance work.  

  • The person appointed to this position will be required to undertake the applicable trades training courses to qualify for advancement.

This opportunity is a Non-management position offering $44.69 per hour

and resides with UNIFOR Canada Local 594.
