About the role
Our client is a well-established consulting engineering firm specializing in the assessment, design, and modernization of mechanical and electrical building systems across Southern Ontario. Their projects focus on improving the performance, reliability, energy efficiency, and sustainability of existing buildings within the public and institutional sectors.
They are seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer (P.Eng.) to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take ownership of projects while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Project Engineer, you will: Manage multiple engineering projects through the full project lifecycle Perform engineering analysis including: Heating and cooling load calculations Piping/ducting distribution losses Equipment selection and sizing Energy modelling and greenhouse gas reduction assessments Lighting and photometric analysis Generator load evaluations Mechanical and electrical system design Prepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and tender documents Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders Conduct building assessments and recommend practical, energy-efficient solutions Review shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and contractor submissions Perform site reviews and construction contract administration Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables Analyze operational costs and greenhouse gas emissions to support sustainable design solutions Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario Approximately 5+ years of consulting engineering and project management experience Experience with mechanical and electrical building systems Experience delivering retrofit and renovation projects is preferred Strong knowledge of Ontario building codes and engineering standards Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Visio
Preferred Experience Experience working on projects within
Healthcare Municipal Educational Commercial Government and public sector facilities
Additional Requirements
Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) Ability to obtain security clearance for provincial and federal government projects
