Printing Technician II - Graphic Design

CUPE $28.57/hr $35.13 /hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, schedule, and produce high-quality printed and photocopied materials in compliance with corporate and legislative standards.
- Conduct printing production services (design, print, edit, collate, finish and distribute materials), while ensuring efficient workflow and optimal utilization of resources.
- Manage equipment maintenance, inventory and financial processes including internal billing, client invoicing, and preparation of quotes for external clients to support uninterrupted operations.
- Provides guidance to clients on best practices and printing options.
- Graphic design for signage, posters and corporate publications.
- Provide Audio Visual (AV) for corporate events, including setting up and running livestream events using Microsoft tools; setting up and operating camera equipment, microphones and speakers; conducting switching and other production activities during the event. Support updates to websites.
- Manage version control of corporate forms, ensuring only the latest revised forms are archived and produced and older versions archived. Ensure required forms have correct barcodes, and barcode new/revised forms as per Forms Committee instruction.
- Process, hold and distribute all hospital (incoming and outgoing) mail to relevant department and Medical Correspondence Network.
- Ensure the distribution of clinical information – ingoing and outgoing – is in compliance with Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPPA).
- Other related activities as operationally required or directed by Chief Communications Officer.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- College Diploma in Graphic Design and/or Multimedia
- Minimum 5years experience in operating digital printers, including pre-press operations.
- 3 years experience in graphic design
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and experience in small equipment maintenance
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, and Desktop publishing, including Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Canva, Figma
- Operation of digital high-speed copiers, offset printing presses, printers and peripheral and finishing equipment
- Operation of Audio-Visual equipment, live streaming set up including basic networking skills
- Knowledge of types, qualities, weights and uses of ink, and papers used in printing production and duplication.
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Compliance
