As our nextAutomation Designer – Mechanical, you will support the design and development of custom automation and special‑purpose equipment used in manufacturing environments. This role is anindividual contributorposition focused on mechanical design, detailing, and cross‑functional collaboration. You will work alongside project teams to develop practical, manufacturable automation solutions ranging from material‑handling equipment to automated cells and assembly systems.

This role is well‑suited for a hands‑on mechanical designer with automation exposure who is looking to deepen their technical experience without people‑management responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies for automation systems, including tooling, fixtures, gauges, robot cells, and assembly equipment
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, tolerances, and process requirements
  • Perform basic engineering calculations related to strength, force, speed, and motion
  • Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of material usingSolidWorks
  • Select standard mechanical components and work with engineering teams to ensure design compatibility
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical and controls teams to support system integration
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices
  • Support manufacturing during equipment build, debug, and integration phases
  • Communicate technical information with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable safety requirements, internal standards, and customer specifications
  • Maintain organized design documentation throughout the project lifecycle

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or diploma inMechanical Engineeringor related field -3–6 yearsof experience in automation, special‑purpose equipment, or industrial machinery design
  • Proficiency withSolidWorksfor mechanical design and detailing
  • Working knowledge of automation equipment such as robotic cells, assembly systems, or material‑handling equipment
  • Understanding of pneumatic systems and common industrial components (sensors, switches, basic electrical interfaces)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and machining processes
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor within a project‑based team environment
