The Role The Demand Planner plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization’s production processes are efficient and effective. This position involves developing and maintaining production schedules, coordinating with various departments to ensure timely delivery of materials, and optimizing resource utilization. The Demand Planner collaborates with cross functional teams to address production issues, perform capacity planning, and implement corrective actions. Additionally, this role involves monitoring production performance and making adjustments to schedules as needed.
What You'll Do Production Scheduling
- Build, manage, and adjust production schedules based on customer demand and capacity.
- Monitor progress and proactively resolve delays.
- Communicate scheduling updates across teams and stakeholders.
Inventory Management
- Analyze inventory levels and coordinate with Purchasing to maintain proper stock.
- Implement controls to reduce waste and optimize storage.
- Keep inventory records accurate and up to date.
Resource Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Sales, Logistics, HR, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Schedule equipment maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Help manage staffing needs and training schedules for production teams.
Cost Analysis
- Review production costs and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Track expenses to ensure alignment with budgets.
- Partner with Accounting to maintain accurate expense records.
Quality Control
- Ensure products meet company and customer standards through regular quality checks.
- Identify issues and implement corrective actions with the QA team.
- Inspect processes and finished products to uphold quality expectations.
Process Improvement
- Continuously analyze production workflows to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Develop new procedures to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and improve output.
- Monitor improvements to measure impact and adjust as needed.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain, production planning, or a related role.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel, SQL, or similar.
- Solid understanding of inventory management principles and systems.
- Proven ability to design and implement optimization strategies.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Able to thrive both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
