About the role

Job Title: EarlyON Child and Family Centre - Facilitator - St. Alban’s

Contract Position: October 1st to December 22nd 2025

Days: Monday and Wednesdays Fridays: 9 to 1pm & Saturdays: 9 to 2pm

Purpose: Promotes, implements, supervises, and supports programs providing services to children aged 0 – 6 in accordance with the Club's mission and Ontario Early Years in relation to stated goals, objectives and allocated resources.

Program Services:

  • Abides by policies and procedures set out by the Club, Ontario Early Years lead site College Montrose Children’s Place and by the Ministry of Education.
  • Assess needs of children (aged 0 to 6) and provides educational and interesting programming, develops achievable goals and objectives for groups of or individual children.
  • Ensures the development, promotion, and implementation of programs and services in relation to the assessed needs, defined goals, objectives and professional service standards.
  • Ensures the safety and security of Club members during programs.
  • Ensures that supplies, equipment and facility are available and are in a safe working condition.
  • Consults and works with colleagues, groups and other service providers.

General Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates weekly program planning which is age appropriate and which enhances children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
  • Completes the set up and break down of the program on a daily basis.
  • Supervises clients (group and individual) and adapts program to meet their development, cultural, social/emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Oversee the various assistants and volunteers in the program.
  • Plan and Provide workshops and activities for the clients to participate in.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment.
  • Assists to complete all necessary paperwork and all daily/monthly checks/cleaning (eg. registration sheets, sign in sheets, satisfaction and workshop questionnaires, disinfection of toys/interest areas/laundry, accident report forms, etc.).
  • Actively participates and attends activities as a member of the Club’s team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children birth to 6yrs
  • Strong supervision and program planning skills
  • Good decision making and problem solving skills
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Police Reference Check
  • High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development and HIGH FIVE Health Minds for Healthy Children
