PSPNET is hiring aclinical research associatewho is registered in Alberta!

PSPNET provides free and confidential internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy (ICBT) to Canadian public safety personnel (PSP), and their spouses or significant others. As a clinical research unit based at the University of Regina, PSPNET delivers, evaluates, and continuously improves evidence-based mental health programs tailored to the needs of public safety personnel and their families.

This position will work under the supervision of Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos or designate. Our programs typically begin with an online and telephone screening. ICBT itself involves patients reviewing psychoeducational materials over the internet and therapists providing support and directing therapeutic activities via secure online messaging and phone calls. The clinical research associate will be involved in various clinical, educational and research activities associated with the project. It is anticipated that the clinical research associate will be involved in screening clients for and delivering ICBT. The clinical research associate will also likely assist with development and revision of treatment materials based on feedback from PSP.

The incumbent is also likely to be involved in outreach activities, preparation of reports, and presentations. Position Requirements

Required

a) Masters or PhD in:
i. Clinical Psychology,
ii. Social Work, or
iii. Educational Psychology (counseling focus)
b) Registered or able to register in Alberta

c) Previous direct knowledge and experience treating mental health problems
d) Knowledge and Experience in cognitive behavioural therapy

e) Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with team

f) Excellent oral and written communication skills

g) Ability to work autonomously and take a lead on a project under supervision

h) Strong organizational and time management skills

i) Strong assessment and problem-solving skills

j) Comfortable using computers and providing online therapy
k) Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort with flexible and evolving responsibilities

l) Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality and confidentiality

Other Assets

a) Fluent in French
b) Research experience with human participants (e.g., literature reviews, interviews, surveys, research ethics, program evaluation, data analysis, dissemination of findings)
c) Experience with knowledge translation and mobilization (e.g., publications, reports, conference presentations)
d) Valid driver’s license, road worthy vehicle, and willing to travel within the province for presentations and outreach opportunities
e) Mental health knowledge of first responders or other public safety personnel (e.g., border services, communications, corrections, emergency management, fire, operational intelligence, paramedics, policing, search and rescue)

Pay Grade As Per CUPE 5791 Research Salary Range As per agreement. Will depend on experience and training of candidate Status Term Work Hours

This position will be full-time (Monday to Friday), 40 hours a week ending March 31, 2028 with the possibility of extension, depending on funds.
