Position Description
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, WTC Business Development, the Business Development Coordinator provides professional support for partnership growth and promotion of our Trade and Growth Programs for Canadian SMEs. In addition to assisting in the acquisition partners and potential sponsors, the coordinator will also be supporting, maintaining, and cultivating the highest levels of engagement from the existing WTC-T and Board networks to grow the profile of the Trade and Growth Programs.
Role Description:
- Support Sr. Business Development Managers in all partnership activities, proactively managing relationships with key partners and ensuring delivery on commitments.
- Maintain and update contact lists and CRM records for industry partners, sponsors, and trade mission delegates. Conduct research on organizations and individuals to identify new opportunities for engagement in Trade and Growth Programs.
- Assist in meeting monthly targets by tracking and recording all partnership and prospect activities in CRM. Increase client and prospect value through sales support, referrals, and identifying new business opportunities.
- Represent WTC-T at conferences, meetings, and industry events to expand the network. Collaborate across Board departments, including Stakeholder Relations and Trade and Growth Program teams, to ensure alignment and execution.
- Enhance organizational reputation by delivering on client needs, maintaining confidentiality, and identifying opportunities to improve program performance and value. Stay current through professional development and industry engagement.
- Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns to drive awareness, partner engagement, and participant recruitment. Design marketing materials (flyers, one-pagers, presentations, social media graphics) using Canva and other creative tools.
- Collaborate with Communications to write, edit, and coordinate content for email campaigns, newsletters, social media, and ads. Maintain segmented marketing lists and analyze performance data to optimize campaigns.
- Contribute to digital lead generation through website optimization, paid ads, and social media outreach, ensuring consistent WTC-T branding and messaging. Keep CRM updated with all partner interactions, leads, and campaign results.
Your Experience Includes
- 2–5 years of experience in marketing, sales support, business development, relationship management, or entrepreneurial roles.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, communicate cross-functionally, and articulate value propositions for recruitment and sales.
- Demonstrated skill in using data and insights to inform business and marketing decisions.
- Experience with CRM and marketing tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Canva, Google Analytics, etc.) and strong computer fluency across productivity and project management software.
- Track record of initiating ideas or processes that improve efficiency, visibility, or results.
- Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with an interest in international markets and business development.
- Demonstrated curiosity about AI applications that enhance performance and efficiency.
- Valid passport and Canadian Driver’s License required, with ability to travel internationally.
