Department Overview:
The Communications and Experience (C&E) team is a centralized team that works with executives and partners across TD Auto Finance (TDAF) to support strategic business and employee initiatives. This team supports TDAF on an end-to-end basis and bridges the gap between internal- and external- facing initiatives to ensure we win with our priority markets and our people.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications & Experience and with a dotted line to the Manager, Communications, the Manager, Brand & Experience is responsible for building TDAF's brand position in the market, ensuring our purposeful and consistent positioning across all touchpoints. The Manager, Brand & Experience does this through owning and building the content for public-facing channels such as LinkedIn, trade publications, advertising and other public relations forums. The Manager, Brand & Experience will proactively seek ways to enhance TDAF's position in the market and additionally ensure the business's alignment with all TD brand standards.
This role requires considerable organizational awareness and alignment with multiple stakeholders across TD Auto Finance and the bank as a whole, including Product, Marketing, CAPA and Legal. This role also works closely with the TDAF Communications team to ensure consistency across all external-facing touchpoints.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in copywriting and strategic communications, who is looking to expand their purview to developing strategic messaging for a business and oversee its execution across multiple external- and internal-facing channels.
This individual must be a proactive, strategic thinker who thrives in an environment that encourages innovation and creativity. Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and execute an annual external advertising plan that maximizes ROI and ensures strategic coverage across the country.
- Manage end-to-end advertising delivery, including but not limited to: sourcing images, writing copy, obtaining stakeholder approvals and approving designs
- Write editorials and executive Q&As in external-facing trade publications, ensuring alignment of messaging to TDAF's strategic priorities and obtaining all necessary stakeholder approval
- Grow TDAF's LinkedIn presence by creating and executing against an engaging and strategic editorial calendar for the TDAF Canada LinkedIn page and those of TDAF's SLT
- Working with the Events team, identify strategies and venues to promote TDAF sponsorships and events internally and externally
- Working with the Employee Experience team, build and maintain a consistent employer brand for TDAF internally and externally
- Identify industry-wide awards TDAF can compete in, and build winning nominations
- Proactively identify external options for TDAF to build our presence
- Develop messaging and focus of standalone marketing materials (i.e., those not tied to product launches or campaigns) including but not limited to largescale sponsorship collateral
- Ensure a consistent visual identity for all external-facing dealer materials that aligns with TD's branding requirements and guidelines
- Act as team lead for enhancements to TDAF's TD.com pages and additional digital assets, working with the Dealer Vehicle & Owner Journey
- Support the Retail & Commercial Sales teams in ad-hoc requests that relate to TDAF's visual identity and brand positioning
- Support OEM initiatives as related to TDAF's visual identity and brand positioning
- Manage the daily administration of TDAF's LEI program, Medallia, and LEI reporting
- Monitor and provide feedback on the effectiveness of strategies, and propose creative methods for improvement
- Secure all necessary approvals working closely with multiple business partners (e.g. CAPA, HR, Legal, Translation, Privacy, Compliance, Marketing)
- Other duties as required
Qualifications & requirements
- Highly motivated individual with a proven track record to deliver results
- 5+ years of experience in business communications and writing
- Post-secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to write quickly, cleanly and creatively
- Exceptional time management and task prioritization skills, with an ability to deliver on several different projects at the same time
- Superior ability to connect disparate projects with bigger strategic priorities
- Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Design and editing skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance changing requirements and priorities
- Experience with traditional and new media technologies and strategies
- Experience with managing internal web content
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
- Passionate, proactive and energetic, with a strong sense of team
- Demonstrated track record of leadership capabilities
- Bilingual (French/English) considered an asset
