About the role
Overview We are seeking an experienced and versatile Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team. You will be the primary skilled tradesperson on projects, responsible for detailed execution of construction and restoration work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced carpentry skills, proven capability across multiple trades, and exceptional reliability in both hands-on tasks and site-level problem solving.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and schematics to implement project specifications.
- ?Perform advanced carpentry and concrete forming, including layout, framing, finishing, and structural work.?
- Utilize hand and power tools expertly and maintain safe work practices at all times.?
- Collaborate closely with the site superintendent to plan work, coordinate tasks, and ensure project timelines and safety standards are achieved on all projects.
- Handle heavy lifting and physical construction tasks associated with site work and material handling.?
Qualifications
- Red Seal (or equivalent) Journeyperson Carpenter certification required.?
- Minimum 5 years? experience as a ticketed carpenter on residential or commercial projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, with a strong track record of independent work.
- Exceptional skills in framing, finishing, and a wide range of carpentry techniques; restoration and multi-trade experience an asset.
- Excellent safety record and knowledge of current BC construction safety practices.
- Experience mentoring apprentices or leading on-site tasks is an asset.
- Proven reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physically fit and able to perform construction duties including lifting heavy materials, working at heights, and operating tools and equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
