Compensation Details:
- Lean Portfolio Management 18: Salaries typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.
Location:
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement oftwoin-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.

Team Overview:
Export Development Canada (EDC) is undergoing significant change and transformation, supported by a growing and maturing enterprise portfolio management capability within the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO).
As a Senior Advisor, Enterprise Portfolio Management, you will support and coordinate portfolio management activities that enable effective decision‑making, sound governance, and disciplined execution across EDC’s initiative portfolio. Working closely with sponsors, delivery teams, and fellow ePMO colleagues, you will help ensure initiatives are well defined, appropriately governed, and transparently reported as they progress through the initiative lifecycle.
This role is well suited for a portfolio or project management professional who enjoys working across initiatives, applying established standards, strengthening governance practices, and supporting leaders with clear, structured, and decision‑ready information.
In this role, you will contribute to enterprise intake and lifecycle processes, including supporting the assessment and refinement of initiative proposals, business case inputs, and expected outcomes.

What you will be doing:
- Support enterprise demand intake and initiative lifecycle activities, including intake quality checks and coordination of required inputs
- Assist in preparing and validating materials for portfolio reviews, governance checkpoints, and decision forums
- Coordinate with initiative teams to gather, validate, and maintain portfolio information related to scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and financials
- Support portfolio execution oversight by monitoring status updates, identifying issues for escalation, and helping maintain visibility across initiatives
- Apply and reinforce portfolio and project management standards, templates, and guardrails across initiatives
- Contribute to portfolio reporting and data quality, ensuring information is complete, current, and decision‑ready
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to portfolio practices, tooling, and ways of working
What we are looking for:
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a relevant field (business, technology, project management, or related).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in portfolio management, project management, governance, or advisory roles.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Comfort operating in environments with both agile and plan‑driven delivery approaches.
- Solid grounding in portfolio and project management standards (e.g., PMBOK, Lean Portfolio Management, Agile).
- Ability to distinguish between project‑level delivery concerns and portfolio‑level decision making.
- Experience contributing to investment decision support, prioritization, or governance processes.
- Strong analytical skills and sound judgment; able to synthesize complex information for senior audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate between business and technical contexts.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn; comfortable asking good questions and constructively challenging thinking.
- Collaborative, team‑oriented, and able to work effectively in a shared‑accountability model.
What will make you stand out:
- Hands‑on experience with portfolio management tooling (e.g., Planview or similar) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Experience supporting initiative intake, business cases, ROM estimates, or change requests.
- Professional certification or training in PMP, DASM, LPM, or Agile methodologies.
- Experience working in complex, regulated, or large enterprise environments.
- Bilingualism in English and French.
