Description
Amsted Automotive, London, Ontario, is looking for a Press operator (Midnight shift) capable of operating all production and related equipment in the department, consistently meeting quality, safety, and production expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate the stamping press coil feeder and automated transfer operation
- Perform tooling setup and machine changeovers
- Packing and labelling the product
- Conducting preventative maintenance on press and scrap systems as scheduled
- Measuring parts using CMM and gauging as required
- Visual inspection of parts for good quality and report any non-conformances to Quality representative or immediate Area Leader
- Oversee load set and transfer system to ensure smooth flow of part production and early detection of potential issues including mis-hits
- Receiving and the storage of steel coils
- Prepare and communicate various reports as required or requested
- Report safety hazards and conduct pre-start inspections as required
- Promote the company’s operational visions, values, goals and behaviors
- Participate in company programs including G&O, 5S, Kaizen, meetings, training, etc.
- Conduct all work activities in a manner that is supportive of team effort
- Adherence to all policies, procedures and regulations
- Participate in the company’s health, safety, environmental, and operational programs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, or his/her designate
Qualifications

Completion of high school
-
Minimum 2-3 years relevant work experience
-
Experience in die set up preferred
-
Forklift License required
-
Overhead Crane License required
-
Experience in automotive, press stamping and/ or manufacturing environment
Working Conditions
- Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, and performing repetitive motion tasks
- Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Office, manufacturing, outdoor environment
- Wear personal protective equipment as prescribed
