Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $69,600 to $87,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.

As a Business Analyst, IT Business Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. Your primary responsibility will involve gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to facilitate the development and implementation of effective systems and processes. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their objectives and challenges, translating these insights into comprehensive and actionable plans. The role requires an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs. This position is fully remote and is open to applicants residing anywhere in Canada.

Why we’ll love You:
- You possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- You have a minimum of 3 years of business analysis and a minimum of a year of data mapping experience
- Broad understanding of IT domain experience, strong technical skills, business intelligence, and ability to fully understand the needs of the user
- Demonstrated analytical skills including broad knowledge / use of business analysis tools such as business process mapping, use cases and various diagrams
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking abilities
- Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb and understand new and complex information
- Experience in business transformation and system implementation
- You have an understanding of database systems and SQL
- You have knowledge of testing methodologies such as white/black box, unit, integration, and regression
- You are detail-oriented and have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Minimum intermediate level ability in Excel, Word
- Basic tsql knowledge
Once here, you'll:
- Work with stakeholders to identify and document business requirements for software development projects; write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria
- Conduct thorough analysis of gathered information, documenting business processes, workflows, and system requirements; create detailed specifications to guide the development and implementation phases
- Work with other departments to investigate and identify software issues; collect and analyze feedback and translate it into future product features
- Identify potential challenges and propose innovative solutions to address business issues, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations
- Create and maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories, bugs, and technical tasks
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure that the team is meeting business objectives
- Work closely with the development, customer support, finance, and marketing teams to ensure that everyone is aligned on the product vision and strategy
- Scrutinize application features to ensure they meet the acceptance criteria and provide value to the customer
- Propose improvements to automate business functions and make effective use of technology to improve customer-service experience
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to the development team and stakeholders
