We’re looking for a Certified Millwright to join our mill located in Lumby, British Columbia. Our White Valley Division produces the veneer used at our Armstrong Plywood facility. White Valley safely and sustainably produces 225,000 million square feet of veneer every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Millwright with a valid Interprovincial Ticket.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to working safely.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards. Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Work with a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings and hydraulic systems involved in the manufacturing process.

  • You will keep our systems running smoothly by performing preventative and predictive maintenance. This includes inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.

  • Better yet, you’ll win big by finding safe, creative ways to boost equipment reliability and streamline our processes.

  • You’ll apply your knowledge, skills and experience to troubleshoot issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes to keep the mill running.

  • You will share your knowledge with the next generation of maintenance rockstars – our Apprentices.
