Location: Onsite - Montreal

Valnet is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to work on high-traffic digital media platforms and proprietary internal systems. This role combines back-end development (PHP, SQL) with front-end implementation (JavaScript, HTML/CSS) and requires a high level of autonomy and ownership. You will work with the Tech Lead and other stakeholders to build scalable, performant, and reliable systems.

You’ll also be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining forms, including integrating them with internal and external systems to populate, validate, and process data efficiently.

Responsibilities Back-End

• Develop and maintain server-side logic using PHP
• Build and extend CMS features and internal tools
• Design, build, and maintain REST APIs / Ajax services
• Develop and maintain form-processing logic, including validation, persistence, and integrations
• Work with SQL databases (MySQL; ClickHouse is an asset)
• Apply object-oriented programming and modular architecture
• Maintain and improve existing systems, including legacy code
• Ensure stability, scalability, and performance for high-traffic websites

Front-End

• Implement front-end functionality using JavaScript
• Build, optimize, and maintain dynamic, data-driven forms
• Integrate layouts using HTML5 and CSS3 (SCSS an asset)
• Connect front-end components to back-end APIs and services
• Optimize pages for performance and Core Web Vitals
• Ensure clean, maintainable front-end code tied to back-end systems
• Support SPA-style interactions where applicable

Technical Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Full-Stack or Back-End Developer
• Strong experience with PHP
• Strong experience with JavaScript
• Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL)
• Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs
• Experience working on high-traffic websites
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Strong experience integrating HTML5 and CSS3 into dynamic systems
• Strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of systems
