About the role
BC Fasteners & Tools (2000) Ltd. is a proud member of The Fastener Group, a well-established wholesaler of tools and fasteners across Western Canada. Is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our growing sales team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, expanding business opportunities, and driving sales growth throughout the Lower Mainland and the surrounding area. This position requires frequent travel within the territory.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and target potential new customers in Construction, Manufacturing, and Industrial trades.
Identify and develop relationships with current and potential clients in various sectors to promote fasteners, tools and other MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) products.
Analyze client requirements and propose suitable products and solutions for their needs.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals to clients.
Work as part of the broader sales team to assist and collaborate in growth.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers regarding products carried.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of sale to close deals effectively.
Visit construction sites to evaluate product applications and deal with site issues.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and follow-up actions.
Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand the customer base and foster relationships.
Attend regular product training sessions.
Required to travel to meet clients and attend events.
Valid passport and drivers license for travel within Canada and USA for training at manufacturers’ facilities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts.
Present and demonstrate products to new and existing customers.
Process detailed quotes for accounts.
Enter orders into system accurately.
Effectively handle customer concerns.
Collaborate with Purchasing, Inside Sales and Shipping to determine the best way to support accounts.
Support Inside Sales Team as required.
Qualifications
Must have a degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or a suitable combination of experience and a high school diploma Previous outside sales experience (min 1 year) in the fastener, tools or MRO product industry with proven track record of success.
Strong understanding of industrial products.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to interpret technical plans and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Self-motivated, result-oriented, and ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Demonstrated ability for self-management and quality time management.
Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.
Education and Experience
Must have a degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or a suitable combination of experience and a high school diploma.
Must have a minimum of one year of outside sales experience with a focus on meeting or exceeding sales targets, preferably with an industrial supplier.
Must have recent experience (within the last twelve months) providing “above and beyond” customer service.
Skills
Ability to accurately identify customer requirements and conduct research.
Ability to acquire and share knowledge about a wide range of products.
Ability to communicate effectively through active listening, writing and presentations.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Ability to maintain professionalism and problem solve in challenging situations.

Reliable and thorough, with a strong commitment to meeting client needs.
