The Position HSAA is recruiting one (1) full-time, temporary Communications Assistant who will work out of the Edmonton Office and will report to the Director, Engagement. This in-scope position is a temporary position for up to five months ending on or before February 28, 2025.
This role plays a key part in supporting HSAA’s digital communications, with a primary focus on uploading and maintaining collective agreements and related documents on the HSAA website. It is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and eager to gain experience in a dynamic communications environment.
While the main responsibility is website content management, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to support broader communications initiatives, including writing, editing, formatting, and event support.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Upload and maintain collective agreements and related documents on the HSAA website, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to visual and accessibility standards.
- Work with the Communications teams to ensure all content is up to date and properly formatted.
- Ensure documents follow HSAA’s branding and digital content standards.
- Support the creation and formatting of other digital communications materials as needed.
- Assist with routine website content updates.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for events, campaigns, and special projects.
What You Bring
- A Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a communications support or administrative role.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in handling digital content.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) — WordPress experience is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of document formatting, editing, and accessibility standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Adobe PDF tools).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of unionized or public sector environments is an asset.
