The Social Work Department is seeking contract faculty instructors to teach courses in the Bachelors of Social Work program.

WHAT IT TAKES
You will instruct undergraduate students in the Social Work Department, in the Faculty of Applied Community Studies. The Department offers a Bachelors Degree in Social Work designed to prepare students to work in a wide range of social work fields.
As a faculty member, you will be required to:

attend campus to instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in the Social Work course.
-
plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, and maintain high quality learner-centred instruction.
-
work collaboratively with all SW Department members.
-
be involved in Department and Faculty initiatives as required.
Requirements:
-
Masters degree in Social Work (doctoral degree is preferred).
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Child and Family Services Agency.
-
Thorough knowledge of social work practice.
-
Demonstrated ability to apply critical, anti-racist and anti-oppressive approaches to engaging individuals, families and communities from diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
-
Experience teaching in educational settings (preferably post-secondary) or community settings (e.g. training, facilitating educational groups, etc.) an asset.

The Department of Social Work in the Faculty of Applied Community Studies at Douglas College is seeking a contract faculty to teach SOWK courses and practicum.
The successful applicant will be included on our list of faculty who are qualified to teach specific courses and may be offered teaching contracts in the future as the need arises.
