Overview
ICM offers a pathway to an undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba. We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates seeking to be Teaching Assistants for university-level courses in areas including Agricultural & Food Sciences; Arts; Business; Engineering; Environment, Earth, & Resources; Recreation Management & Community Development; or Science. Key Responsibilities

Meeting with course instructor(s) for onboarding and adherence to course delivery requirements

Preparing and presenting tutorials in an English-only format
-
Providing written feedback to students on the quality of material presented for grading or marking

Administering and marking appropriate assessment instruments (ex: quizzes) May be required in assisting with the production of lab assessments under the supervision of the course instructor(s).
Essential Skills, Knowledge, & Experience

Completion of academic studies and experience which have resulted in an expertise specifically appropriate to assisting in the instruction of the course(s) assigned

An empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students, particularly those of international students
-
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and meet agreed outcomes Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Professional experience in a relevant discipline area
- Public speaking experience, whether through previous TA experience or other relevant experience
- Exposure to the academic needs and requirements of international students
- Experience in a multicultural environment
