Who We Are

Imagine working for an organization where every employee and customer is an Owner.

No matter whether a customer Owner or employee Owner, everything we do at Libro is about helping people prosper. We recruit and develop high-quality candidates like you who are ready to offer the best possible advice, coaching and service, when and how our Owners need it.

Libro invests heavily in the development and career ambitions of our staff. Our hiring philosophy is focused on finding candidates who carry a positive attitude, a desire to learn, and a passion for helping our staff and Owners (customers) grow financial confidence. We commit to teaching and supporting you as you learn the skills you need.

What Opportunity Awaits?

As we continue to grow, Libro is on a mission to find a passionately accountable full-time Investment Specialist supporting our London Elgin region.

Our Investment Specialists take a proactive approach to helping the mass retail segment of Owners achieve their financial goals - including understanding each Owner’s financial situation, life goals, and tolerance for risk. The Investment Specialist will work with other members of the branch and regional teams to ensure all opportunities are identified and referred to the appropriate business, commercial, investment or retail representatives to build a full financial relationship with Owners.

Successful Investment Specialists must believe that the long-term benefit of investment markets is to generate excess returns over savings and/or other guaranteed deposits. They will communicate this investment option to Owners, colleagues, and potential investors. This role is designed to be a development role in our Wealth offer and will include an emphasis on training and skill development.

This role is dually employed between Libro Credit Union and Aviso Wealth and will require travel within the region.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build relationships and provide investment advice for Owners who are in early stages of wealth accumulation.
  • Primary role will be to build relationships with up to ~ 600 Owner households of up to $85,000 in investable assets that are appropriate for managed investment solutions (i.e., mutual funds.) Local branch requirements may vary.
  • Effectively apply advice-based selling and interest-based conversations in all Owner interactions, with a focus on Owner behavior.
  • Translate Owner goals and priorities into goals-based planning calculators to form the basis of all future investment decisions for the Owner; review and update Owner planning calculators periodically.
  • Reach out proactively to Owners and prospects, responding to referrals, data insights and market intelligence to grow wealth portfolio.
  • Collaborate and refer opportunities seamlessly to our specialists to match expertise to Owner’s identified needs to ensure a full financial relationship, including forwarding more complex planning situations to our Financial Planners, and referrals to the Personal Banking Specialist.
  • Support effective sales management practices, along with developing and executing an individual business plan providing specific goals and targets aligned with brand, regional, and corporate plans.
  • Participate in networking, promotions, and location campaigns to build Libro’s brand and grow business.

Could this be you? Are you ready to join an exciting team at Libro?

  • Do you have, or are you willing to obtain with our support within 4 months of hire, the mutual fund licensing requirements for the role? (i.e., Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada Course or equivalent)
  • Libro puts an emphasis on lifelong learning. Successful Investment Specialists will be supported should they choose to pursue advanced learning such as the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation, etc.

Some of the ways we show Libro is an outstanding employer:
