About The Role

The Instrumentation Apprentice supports the maintenance and reliability of industrial instrumentation systems across the mine and milling operations while developing technical skills through hands-on training. Working under the guidance of experienced Instrumentation Technicians, the apprentice assists with the inspection, calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of measuring and control devices. This role contributes to safe, efficient operations while progressing toward full trade competency.

Responsibilities

Assist with the repair, maintenance, calibration, and installation of industrial instrumentation in mining and milling operations. Support the reading and interpretation of control schematics, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment manuals. Help inspect, test, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems using appropriate tools and testing equipment. Assist with the maintenance and calibration of components such as sensors, transmitters, control valves, and actuators. Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks under supervision and support completion of calibration and maintenance reports. Accurately record work performed, including maintenance activities and work orders, in the maintenance management system (e.g., Oracle eAM). Learn to identify potential equipment issues and report observations to support reliability improvements. Collaborate with technicians, operators, and maintenance teams to support safe and efficient plant operations.

Job Qualifications

Key Skills & Knowledge

College diploma in electrical and/or instrumentation technician or another related field. Apprentices may be considered in accordance with business and legislative requirements.

Relevant Experience

Previous experience in open pit mining or mineral processing (specifically gold processing) is considered an asset.

Skills & Strengths, We Value

Salary Range: $90,585 - $107,000 + Bonus

The final offer is determined based on your individual skills, qualifications, and competencies and aligned with our commitment to internal equity.
