About the role

JOEY Restaurant Group is looking for an exceptional Senior Graphic Designer to bring strong creative judgement, hands-on design expertise, and production leadership to the Marketing department. This is a senior individual contributor role for a designer who can move confidently between big-picture concepts and detailed execution, independently driving projects from brief through final delivery while maintaining a high standard of creative craft and providing day-to-day direction and development to the Graphic Designer. In this role, you will shape how our brands show up across every guest touchpoint, translating brand and business strategies into compelling creative for integrated campaigns, performance marketing, digital channels, lifecycle communications, menus, in-store materials, photo and video shoots, and new restaurant openings. The ideal candidate is creatively ambitious, highly organized, and proactive, with a contemporary design sensibility, a pulse on emerging creative and cultural trends, and the instinct to apply them in ways that feel distinctive and relevant to each brand. This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.

Annual Compensation Range

$80,000 – $100,000 / year The salary range is dependent on skill and work experience.

Responsibilities

Translate brand, campaign and business strategies into compelling visual storytelling across integrated channels, including digital, print, in-store, experiential, and new restaurant marketing. Lead concept development, design and production for integrated campaigns, advertising and other high-priority creative initiatives, including menus, promotional assets, store requests, campaign adaptations, photography retouching and video editing. Develop high-performing digital creative for paid social, display, search, email, web and other performance marketing channels, adapting creative to platform requirements, audience needs and campaign objectives. Partner with Marketing and Growth stakeholders to review creative performance, interpret results and apply learnings through testing, iteration and optimization. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing, Growth Lead, Graphic Designer, broader Marketing team and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure creative work is strategically grounded and aligned with each brand's voice, visual identity and creative outcomes. Contribute to brainstorms, creative reviews and campaign debriefs, bringing fresh ideas, constructive feedback and informed creative perspective. Provide art direction to internal and external collaborators, including freelance designers, photographers, videographers and production partners, with accountability for the quality and consistency of their output. Creatively direct and lead photo and video shoots within established visual standards. Manage and provide senior creative direction to the Graphic Designer, including actionable feedback and supporting their professional growth. Own assigned creative work from intake through final delivery, managing briefs, timelines, competing priorities, approvals and deadlines while communicating status, risks and blockers early. Develop scalable design systems, reusable templates and production standards that improve consistency, reduce rework and increase efficiency. Integrate AI and automation tools into creative workflows to accelerate ideation, versioning, image development, retouching and repetitive production tasks while maintaining brand integrity and quality standards.

Requirements

6-7+ years of progressive graphic design experience, with advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects. A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional craft and versatility across brand campaigns, digital, performance marketing, print and production work. Proven ability to translate brand and marketing strategy into compelling creative across multiple brands, audiences, and channel requirements. Strong performance marketing and digital creative experience, with an understanding of platform best practices, creative testing, and conversion-focused design. Experience managing, developing or providing senior creative direction to designers. Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with a track record of independently delivering multiple concurrent projects from brief through completion. Practical experience integrating generative AI, automation or other emerging tools into creative workflows to improve speed, scalability and efficiency. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present creative rationale, receive feedback constructively, and translate feedback into clear next steps. A contemporary, aspirational design sensibility and the judgment to apply emerging creative and cultural trends in a way that is relevant and distinctive to each brand. A strategic, resourceful approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment. Bonus - These aren’t requirements but if you have them, don’t hold back on mentioning them! Hospitality, restaurant, retail or consumer-brand experience. Experience with motion design, short-form video, or dynamic paid-media creative. CapCut or other similar video editing experience. Experience developing creative testing frameworks or modular asset systems.
