About The Opportunity
We are searching for Strength and/or HIIT instructors who combine exceptional coaching with technical expertise and a high-energy presence, delivering classes where clients feel challenged, educated, and genuinely excited to come back.
In this role, you'll lead dynamic group classes built around thoughtful, progressive, and uncomplicated programming. You'll deliver precise, well-timed cues that reinforce movement quality without disrupting the energy of the room, helping clients understand the purpose behind each movement so the work resonates long after they leave the studio.
You'll offer thoughtful modifications and progressions that keep every level engaged while fostering a warm, high-energy environment that reflects what Sweat and Tonic is all about. The result is a class that feels challenging, engaging, and grounded in movement quality and integrity.
Primary Responsibilities
Deliver world-class fitness experiences that foster confidence, competence, and enjoyment through challenging community-driven classes. Develop class programming, playlists, and signature elements that let your unique voice and practice shine within the S&T brand framework and standards of excellence Motivate and inspire clients and fellow team members, building genuine relationships inside and outside of class Arrive 15–20 minutes before each class, fully prepared to deliver an exceptional experience Live the S&T brand values: lead by example, be relentless in finding a way, and demonstrate that we are stronger together Participate in promotional events, photo and video shoots, and brand initiatives Represent Sweat and Tonic with pride as an ambassador for the brand - both in and out of the studio
Requirements & Expectations
Experience coaching Strength and/or HIIT in a high-energy group fitness environment Strong movement knowledge, coaching presence, and cueing skills Ability to confidently demonstrate Strength and HIIT exercises with exceptional fluidity, control, and form A passion for helping people move well, build confidence, and get stronger A commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive training environment Availability to teach a minimum of 3 classes per week Availability that includes either early mornings, evenings, or weekend afternoons Willingness to substitute classes when needed Flexibility to teach at all of our Toronto locations Participation in studio events, shoots, and promotional opportunities Ongoing team development workshops and communication
Qualifications
Required:
Recognized HIIT, Strength, or Personal Training certification, or equivalent experience Proven experience teaching group classes in a boutique fitness environment Deep understanding of movement principles and effective programming A natural connector: someone who builds community and makes every client feel seen Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth Current CPR/AED certification
Nice To Have
Experience with complementary training modalities and/or a background in kinesiology An established following or demonstrated ability to retain and grow a client base
Compensation
$75 - $150 per class (base rate + attendance bonus) High-performing instructors who also teach exclusively at S&T and teach at least 15 classes/week can apply for the S&T Exclusive Instructor Program and earn $95 - $170 per class (base rate + attendance bonus)
