About the Role Senior Business Analyst Duration: 9 Months + Extension Onsite: 5 Days/Week
Responsibilities
Lead and conduct business analysis for complex business and technology initiatives Gather, document, analyze, and validate business requirements Develop business cases, feasibility studies, strategies, and cost-benefit analyses Facilitate JAD sessions, interviews, workshops, and stakeholder engagement Perform business process, use case, data, and process flow modeling Develop performance measures, traceability matrices, and project documentation Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and report to stakeholders Qualifications
10+ years of Business Analysis experience Experience with Oracle Business Planning Database design expertise (SQL Server, Oracle) BI & Analytics roadmap development (e.g., Microsoft BI) Statistics, analytics, dashboards, data visualization (Power BI, R-Shiny) Experience designing, developing, and implementing analytics using post-secondary administrative data assets. Experience developing applications compliant with GO-ITS standards Required Skills
Core Skills (45%) 10+ years Business Analysis experience Organizational data strategies and roadmap development Analytics implementation using post-secondary administrative data assets Ontario Digital Service standards knowledge Data de-identification and privacy protection methodologies Analysis of large, diverse datasets Project planning, estimation, testing, implementation, and reporting Data management, financial/business analysis, database architecture, information visualization Statistical analysis, modeling, data mining, machine learning, and algorithms
Technical Skills (25%) Database design (SQL Server, Oracle) BI and analytics roadmap development (Microsoft BI) Power BI, R-Shiny, dashboards, and data visualization Data warehousing and dashboard solutions ETL development for large relational and multidimensional datasets Advanced data visualization, website, and SharePoint integration
Communication Skills (20%) Requirements analysis and end-to-end delivery System design documentation, technical specifications, and architecture artifacts Stakeholder management and advisory support AODA-compliant communications Ability to build consensus on data access and analytics initiatives Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills Experience working across multiple teams and meeting tight deadlines Knowledge of industry methodologies, standards, and best practices Collaborative team player with strong client engagement skills
