Role Overview:
We are currently looking for a Director, Operational Risk & Third-Party Risk Management. The Director, ORM will lead a team with responsibilities including management and execution of the Risk and Control Assessments (RCA) process, independent testing of the key controls, leading third party risk management and managing operational resiliency program.
What You’ll Do:
- Management and execution of the RCA process and independent testing of key controls
- Identify key risk and control gaps and provide improvement recommendations
- Prepare and deliver RCA and independent testing results to Executives and the Business
- Lead the discussions at monthly Operational Risk Management meeting and provide updates to Enterprise Risk Management Committee
- Help identify and independently verify risk appetite thresholds and key risk indicators
- Manage the semi-annual certification of controls performed by the Business, using the Bank’s eGRC tool
- Lead the third-party risk management program with focus on risk assessments and due diligence, periodic third-party reviews, and risk-based site visits.
- Maintain operational residency program with focus on maintaining critical operations in various scenarios including disruptions at third parties
- Oversight of Cyber & Technology risk
- Challenge the design and implementation of Bank-wide projects and develop a strong control environment to mitigate risks identified
- Complete annual updates of ORM policies, procedures, and manuals
- Support and assist in the development the annual ORM strategy and planning
What You Bring:
- Post-secondary education in Business or Commerce or a related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in an operational risk management or audit function in the financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of credit card and deposit accounts products and management processes
- Experience managing complex projects and driving change
- Experience with identifying and documenting risks and controls
- Experience with testing the operating effectiveness of controls
- Strong understanding of operational risks impacting the organization and the importance of key mitigating controls
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to deal with all levels of the organization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- People Management experience preferred
