General Accountability:
The Customer Service Representative provides front-line support at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex related to customer service inquiries and Leisure Services admissions.This customer-focused position is an important first point of contact for customers and stakeholders (including public and internal inquiries) related to Parks and Recreation.
In line with our strategic vision, Town Hall and workplace culture, Accountable, Connected and Excellence (ACE), this position will always be required to do the right thing and take personal ownership in contributing to the organization. The employee in this position must be able to communicate clearly and concisely and actively contribute to achieving team results. The incumbent must provide exceptional service to customers and internal partners and demonstrate initiative toward achieving organizational results and performance excellence.
Duties:
- Ensure an environment of customer excellence when dealing with internal and external customers, facility users, and stakeholders.
- Assist with the promotion of Community Services’ programs and good public relations within the community.
- Respond to public questions, complaints, and concerns (both by the phone and in-person) in timely and professional manner.
- Accept Community Services’ program registrations and provide support and assistance to customers for registration activities.
- Ensure that cash handling procedures and records are in accordance with Town policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the Leisure Services division.
- Assist with special events as required.
- Assist with the preparation of daily departmental reports as required.
- Assist with facility bookings as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work extremely flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays), shift work and split shifts as business requires
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Education or GED equivalent
- A minimum of one year experience in an office administration or customer service role preferably within recreation
- Experience in with recreational database or software systems such as ActiveNet is considered an asset
- High degree of interpersonal and customer service skills with a preference for collaboration
- One year experience with Point of Sale (POS) cash handling
- Strong computer skills including MS Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced environment which at times can be stressful and difficult.
- The ability to obtain Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Organized, self-disciplined, self-directed and highly motivated
- Detail orientated, well organized, and demonstrated ability to show initiative
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision or within a team
- Ability to problem solve and be flexible
